17th September

Most of the area was exposed to a brisk NE wind which made birding difficult. Nothing was going overhead, not even Siskins!

One the ground there were still small groups of Chiffchaffs in sheltered areas but only 34 were counted, with eight Blackcpas, one Lesser Whitethroat and two Firecrest. The Rough was the most productive area as the wind eased producing single Wheatear, Whinchat and the first Pied Flycatcher of the month.
