Wildlife sightings from the Bockhill area. We are a small group of East Kent birders who have been enjoying wildlife in the St. Margaret's Bay and Kingsdown area of the White Cliffs since October 1994. Here you will find a record of the fauna and flora of this region of Kent.

30th September
Not the best of conditions for autumn birding at Bockhill with clear skies and a westerly wind but it was good to be out in the field after a four week break. Highlights included 41 Chiffchaffs (including 16 together in the Farm Wood), 16 Blackcaps and at least 11 Stonechats. Mediterranean Gulls were everywhere including 90 in the Big Field and many more over the sea. Four early Goldcrests were encouraging after a dire autumn last year. There was also a single Firecrest in the Paddock. A few Meadow Pipits, Swallows and House Martins were moving through during the morning. Richard on his early morning dog walk added Siskin and Brambling to the day list
