10th September

A poor day with a significant reduction in the number of migrants. Chiffchaffs led the way for the warblers with 48, along with two Willows, 17 Blackcaps, five Lesser Whitethroats and three Common Whitethroats. Two Stonechats were the only chats seen.

A Whimbrel flew down channel. No no hirundines were seen all morning.

Siskins continued to pile through, invariably going North and mostly unseen. At least 180 went through this morning although the true figure is likely to have been much higher. A small group of about thirty birds rested for a couple of minutes in Ship House.

41 species recorded
